There is a quite interesting quote from Robert A. Heinlein (author of lots of Science fiction stories including Starship Troopers) which describes much of what I think about life:
"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects"
And this quote refers to nothing but Erudition, which in simple words would be "Knowing something from a lot of things and being able to think logically". I think that knowing a lot of things makes someone interesting and sometimes I can barely control this "learning hungry"
However, there must be a balance between "Knowing nothing from everything"(being an erudite) and "Knowing everything from nothing" (being an specialist).
